AfricanIzed Honey Bee (Killer Bee) Facts

Killer bees are hard to tell apart from honey bees other than the fact that they are somewhat smaller and more aggressive. The other differences between Honey Bees and Africanized Honey Bees is the

Unlike the European honey bee, the Africanized bee can be easily aggravated. The killer bee has been on a journey from South America to North America since 1957. The first reported case in the USA was in 1990 by 1994 they reached California, and moving at a rate of 200 miles per year you would think they would have overwhelmed the continent by now. Their expansion rate has been drastically reduced thanks to professional bee control companies who have crews specializing in bee control. There have been few reported deaths from Africanized bee attacks in the United states since their first appearance. Africanized bees are a a result from selective cross breeding between the aggressive African bee and the Italian Honey Bee. The purpose was to create highly effiecient honey bees to increase pollination.

Incase of Attack

If you find yourself being swarmed and attacked by bees immediatly get out of the vicinty. Use your shirt to cover your face and never jump into water as bees will wait for you to emerge. If you are allergic to bee stings get immediate medical attention!

What separates us from the other pest control companies is that bee control is a big industry and it takes experience and accumulated knowledge to do it right. We know this and have been in this industry since 1985. Many times we find ourselves at job sites to fix what other companies have failed to do.
